Judge Ramirez Retirement Announcement

Branch 3 Circuit Court Judge Ralph M. Ramirez has announced his retirement.  See below for his retirement message.  Judge Ramirez has been a bulwark of the Waukesha County bench for decades and will be greatly missed.

I am announcing that I will retire from my position as Circuit Court Judge for Branch 3 in Waukesha County.  My retirement will be effective August 9, 2026.  I will have served the people of Waukesha County and the State of Wisconsin as a judge for 27 years as of August 1, 2026.  It has been my great honor to have been elected to this position in 1999 and to have been reelected four times after that. Prior to my election I served in the Waukesha County District Attorney’s Office for 13 years. I walked into these buildings 40 years ago and haven’t left them for almost my entire career. I love my job and the people that I work with.  I have great respect and admiration for my colleagues. I will miss them and miss my work. It simply is time for me to move on.

I will advise the governor’s office of my retirement in the near future so that the selection process for a new Branch 3 judge can begin.

I want to thank all of my colleagues, the Clerk of Court’s staff, all county employees, and the justice system partners and Waukesha County administrators and elected  officials who have made my position so rewarding.

Sometime, at the end of July, I will host a final good-bye event in Branch 3.

Ralph M. Ramirez

Waukesha County Presiding Judge

Branch 3
