Family Legal Clinic- Volunteers Needed!

Interested in pro bono service opportunities?   Please consider helping out at the Family Legal Clinic at the Waukesha County Courthouse.

The clinic is sponsored by the Waukesha County Clerk of Court’s Office with financial assistance from the State Bar of Wisconsin’s Volunteer Lawyer’s Program.  The program provides self-represented litigants with Waukesha County Family Court cases the opportunity to receive twenty minutes of free, Family Court related legal advice from a volunteer attorney.  This clinic provides an organized program through which attorneys can provide pro bono services to individuals in Waukesha County.

The Family Legal Clinic is held every Wednesday from 3:00 p.m. to 4:30 p.m. The number of individuals each attorney meets with is limited to 4 per session.  Family Division staff sends out an email every Tuesday to the attorneys assigned to volunteer that week which includes the names of the client and the opposing party along with a brief synopsis of the issues they are seeking assistance with.  It is expected that the volunteering attorney will perform a conflict check and advise the Family Division if such conflict exists prior to arriving for the clinic.

Any attorney that is interested in volunteering for at least 2 Wednesdays per quarter may return this Volunteer Registration Form to Jennie Andrus, Circuit Court Supervisor of the Family Division.
