ANNOUNCEMENT: THE HONORABLE WILLIAM J. DOMINA TO RETIRE EFFECTIVE AUGUST 2, 2026

In my 41st year of legal practice as a member of the State Bar of Wisconsin, I am announcing that I will retire from my position as Circuit Court Judge for Branch XI in Waukesha County.  My retirement will be effective August 2, 2026.   All tolled, I will have served the people of Waukesha and Milwaukee Counties including as a Wisconsin Court of Appeals judicial law clerk (two years), a Waukesha County Assistant and Principal Assistant Corporation Counsel (13 years), the Milwaukee County Corporation Counsel (7 years) and as a circuit court judge for Waukesha County (16.5 years).  It has been my great honor to have been appointed to this position in 2010 by the then-Wisconsin Governor, the Hon. James Doyle, and to have stood for election three times hence, without opposition.  My service as an elected school board member (1994-2003) and my work as circuit court judge gives me over 25 years of service in elected office.

I will advise the governor’s office of my retirement in the near future so that the selection process for a new Branch XI judge can begin.

I want to thank all of my colleagues, the Clerk of Court’s staff, all county employees, and the justice system partners and Waukesha County administrators and elected  officials.

Look for a future announcement for a Celebration of Life, pre-mortem.

JD
